Caribbean cuisine

Caribbean cuisine is the name given to a cuisine that is generally prepared mixing a number of various cuisines. Usually, a fusion of Spanish, Armerindian, African, Indian and French cuisines result in the preparation of Caribbean cuisine. The origin of the Caribbean cuisine is the tradition of the people of preparing cuisines of their homelands. Each of the individual traditions have mingled together to have created a new form of cuisine that is rich with styles of a number of places in the different corners of the world.

Jerk is one of the special dish among the Caribbean cuisine. It is a very common dish, and yet, it is very typical. It is basically, the seasoned meats. The meats are generally chicken. But, they can often be of some other animals also. In natural courses, chicken and goat meats are very common as well as very popular in the Anglophone Caribbean islands. The inclusion of the French cuisine into the Caribbean cuisine took place at least one hundred and fifty years ago.
There are also some items of dishes in the Caribbean cuisine, that are prepared using fried goat meat, duck as well as chicken.Beans and sauces are also added in most of the times. It depends upon the type of dishes also. Another very common as well as popular type of Caribbean cuisine is pelau. It is also popularly called as 'cook ? up'. This particular dish includes the ingredients like rice, pigeon peas, salt fish, beef, chicken and pig tail. This dish has been taken to be the best among the common Caribbean cuisine that are taken in everyday life.

The people of the Spanish dominated areas of the Caribbean islands have been found to be very fond of the savory spices. Nutmeg and cinnamon are the very common flavors in these areas. Most of the dishes are found to be of any of these two flavors.



Another very common among the items of the Caribbean cuisine is the seafood. One reason of the seafoods being popular as Caribbean cuisine is that it had been one of the common food items of the Caribbeans itself. Rice is also very common as an item of the Caribbean cuisine. But you may find the difference of tastes of the various kinds of preparations of rice in almost each of the Caribbean islands. The rice is sometimes seasoned very well in order that the taste of the rice will be improved. Peas a swell as coconut are also added to the rice to add to the richness of the taste of the rice.
