Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain, one of the renowned American chefs, has earned an international fame for his contribution in the field. Anthony Bourdain, born on 25th June,1956 is the Chef-at-Large of the popular French restaurant Brasserie Les Halles, situated in the New York City with branches in Washington D.C.. The chef is also the author of various cookery books and host of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservation, the popular television show on Travel Channel.

Anthony Bourdain, though born in New York City was brought up in Leonia, New Jersey. The chef however mentioned that his love for innovative cuisines began during his visit to France. He is a much traveled person who has enjoyed the flavor and has gained wide experience about varied international cuisines.

After completing his studies from Vassar College he worked in some of the popular seafood restaurants in Massachusetts. He completed his graduation from Culinary Institute of America and joined New York City's famous Supper Club Sullivan's and One Fifth Avenue. He has shared his experience with public via The New York Times, The Independent, The Observer and The Times.

Anthony Bourdain became a popular face after the publication of Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, one of the bestsellers. Bourdain threw light on the negative aspects of culinary world in this popular book released in the year 2000. Apart from highlighting the on the various cuisines, the book also serves as his own biography. The non fictional book is based on a situational comedy, which was earlier broadcasted by Fox Broadcasting Company.

Anthony Bourdain also authored some of the famous books including A Bone in the Throat and Gone Bamboo and Typhoid Mary, a famous historical text. The most prominent among his books being Anthony Bourdain's Les Halles Cookbook. A Cook's Tour published in 2001, is the other popular book by Bourdain which narrates his experience and search for a perfect meal. He tasted some exotic alien dishes including boiled duck embryo and heart of a cobra. The book relates the story of his ideas and experience during his travel in France, Portugal, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Vietnam, Cambodia and Morocco. The incidents were simultaneously shown in Food Network, the television show, which became quite popular. The Nasty Bits is the other popular book by Bourdain.

Anthony Bourdain now stays in Manhattan with Ottavia Busia, his wife and their daughter.
